A devastating truth.

The Talk · Short drama

What are we really preparing our children for?

What begins as a soft, loving monologue slowly reveals the weight of systemic racism, personal loss and the fear every Black parent carries.

Written, directed and produced by Hila Cage Coppola, The Talk uses intimacy and restraint to move a familiar conversation from the street to a space meant for healing.

Building a creative life
with intention.

“The goal isn’t just to tell stories. It’s to create space for something real to be felt.”

Hila Cage Coppola is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, director and producer based in Los Angeles.

Her work is rooted in emotional honesty and examines motherhood, inequity, resilience and the ways institutions shape intimate human experience.

After becoming a mother, Hila returned to film education and found a collaborative language for experiences that statistics or argument alone could not express. She brings a background in business, leadership and creative problem-solving to production while continuing to expand her craft across directing, producing, cinematography, sound and post-production.

Her creative trajectory is focused on women’s stories, maternal experience and films that invite audiences to feel complexity rather than reducing it to easy answers.

“What I love about Hila is that she’s offering to help other people. She shares her knowledge and her talent with her classmates.”
